The Area's Many Attractions

Historic Downtown Frederick is a beautiful city located about 20 minutes from our farm.  Dotted with little shops, churches, cafes, and parks, Frederick is a great place to tour around on a nice afternoon. Baker Park, Carroll Creek, and Schifferstadt are great places to visit in the city.

Our Nation's capital is just about an hour away from our farm by way of Interstate 270.  Stop by for some cider and then tour around the National Monument, the Capitol, and the museums at the National Mall.

Harper's Ferry is a very pretty historic town in Jefferson County, West Virginia.  It is nestled between the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers.  The town is most famous for John Brown's raid on the Armory in 1859 and it's role in the American Civil War.
Gathland State Park is a small state park located very near to our farm and Burkittsville, Maryland.  The park is complied of the remains of the estate of George Alfred Townsend who was a correspondent during the American Civil War.  Interesting buildings remain including the War Correspondents Memorial Arch.  The Appalachian trail also passes through the park.

Gambrill State Park is located slightly outside of Frederick, Maryland.  It is a popular place for mountain bikers and siteseers.  There is a picnic area and a small pond where fishing is permitted.
